Frank Dominque DeCourten
92, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home in Bear Valley Springs, California, after a brief illness. Frank was born February 6, 1921 in Richmond, California to Swiss immigrant parents, the middle of five children. He graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1938.
Frank, along with his two brothers, served in the Air Force in WWII, was a Radio Operator/Mechanic Gunner. After the war ended, Frank attended Armstrong Business College on the GI bill, and was eventually hired by the California State Board of Equalization as an auditor. He retired in 1976 as an Audit Supervisor, and promptly embarked on a second career as a tax preparer. At 92 Frank was still preparing tax returns for the few clients he had left.
Frank's life was a life well lived through the love, indomitable spirit, humor, and dignity that he freely shared with his family and friends in the journey of life.
Frank leaves behind the love of his life - wife Jan, his 99 year old brother Fred DeCourten, niece Karen Rose, his children Michele DeCourten ( Mason Einhorn), Frank De Courten, Marque (Theresia) DeCourten, Rod & Kitty Bower, Keli Corcoran and Scott Corcoran; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; his many relatives in Switzerland; his cat the Girly; and countless friends.
