Daniel A. ("Bud") Silva

November 8, 1935 - January 17, 2014

(Cerritos,California) Born in Honolulu, Bud moved to California with his mom Edith Tavares Silva, younger sister Patricia, and step dad Ralph Dodgen. Half-sister Diana came along in 1946. Bud graduated from Wilson High School in Long Beach, joined the Marines in 1952, and served in the Korean War. Later he worked alongside Ralph at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, then put in 28 years with the U.S. Defense Contract Administrative Service (DCAS). He is survived by wife, Virginia; sons, Dan and Dave Silva; daughter, Tami Barnard; sisters, Patricia Konan and Diana Stuart; three step-sisters, four grandkids, and a large extended family. Cremation by the Neptune Society. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 1st in Long Beach, California. Please contact shortstack@silvaprod.com for details.
