Lena "Mae" Miller, 99, Stanton, formerly Red Oak, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at the Accura Healthcare of Stanton.
Mae was born July 25, 1919, on a farm near Red Oak, the daughter of Eugene Richard and Maude Pearl (Comstock) Bryant. She graduated as valedictorian of the Strahan High School in the class of 1937. She worked in Shenandoah at the nurseries and later married Ron Miller on Feb. 14, 1964, in Shenandoah. She worked for Union Carbide Battery Company in Red Oak for many years, and she and Ron made their home in Red Oak in 1977. Mae enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, dancing, playing cards, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ron Miller in 1999; brothers, Wayne, Clarence, and Ross Bryant; sister, Gladys Lorimor; and granddaughter, Shannon Michael.
Survivors include her son, Bob Michael and wife Barb of Red Oak; grandchildren, Shawn Michael and wife Cynthia of New Braunfels, Texas; Stacy Hayes and husband Dave of Louisville, Colo.; and Nick Michael and wife Laura of Griswold; great-grandchildren, Austin, Kassidy, Dakota, Kaliann, Sheyann, Alexus, Kaide, and Charlie; sister, Dorothy Siegfried; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
