LUMBERTON — Frederick Luke Musselwhite, 78, of Lumberton, N.C., died on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

He was born in Robeson County, N.C., on Jan. 6, 1939, to the late Edward Luke Musselwhite and the late Agnes Stewart Musselwhite. He was an Army Reserve veteran. He practiced law for 54 years and was a partner in the firm Musselwhite, Musselwhite, Branch & Grantham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, William Edward "Billy" Musselwhite.

Mr. Musselwhite is survived by his wife, Shelva Sechriest Musselwhite of the home; a son, Frederick Luke "Rick" Musselwhite of Lumberton; a daughter, Norris Musselwhite Grantham (Lee) of Lumberton; a sister, Nancy Musselwhite Hobbs of Lumberton; mother-in-law, Thelma Sloop Sechriest of Lumberton; and grandchildren, Lee McKellar "Mac" Grantham Jr., John Frederick Grantham, and Sydney Nichol Musselwhite.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the home of Norris and Lee Grantham, 28 Trinity Drive in Lumberton.

The funeral will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lumberton with Rev. David Ruth and Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
