SHIRLEY LOCKLEAR
PEMBROKE — Shirley Locklear, 82, of Pembroke, went to her eternal home on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Pembroke. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was a faithful and loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She devoted her life to taking care of others and always putting their needs before her own. Those who knew her, knew you were always welcome in her home where there was always coffee and something to snack on.
Shirley was the eldest daughter of the late Stanley and Carabell Locklear.
She is preceded in death by brothers, Charlie F. Locklear, Delton Locklear and Stanley Locklear Jr.; and sisters, Velma Edwards and Thelma Locklear.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Belinda L. Porter and her husband Delton Porter; nieces she thought of as her children, Iola L. Woodell and her husband Rev. Hilton Woodell, and Krystin Taylor Woodell; grandchildren, Lorenzo Porter and his girlfriend Nicki, Lekesha Porter, Victoria Porter and Calvin Porter; great-grandchildren, Kayden Porter, Tristan Locklear, Jakobi Porter and Tylan Porter; sisters, Evelyn Locklear, Lee Ila Oxendine and her husband Jimmie, Ann Sue Brewington and her husband Lambert; sister-in-law, Clella Locklear; brothers, Daniel Locklear and his wife Alice, and Milton Ray Locklear; brother-in-laws, Lloyd Edwards and Lawrence Locklear. She leaves behind a host nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Pembroke.
