Peggy Roberts Worthington

WINTERVILLE - Peggy Roberts Worthington, 82, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Worthington, who was affectionately known as Nana, was the daughter of the late Simpkins Alonza and Mary Elizabeth Buck Roberts. A native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, she was a graduate of Belvoir High School, where she was involved in extracurricular activities including plays and basketball. She had been employed at Hollowell's Drug Store and DuPont and later worked for Burroughs Wellcome for many years. She attended The Pentecostals of Greenville. A wonderful cook, Mrs. Worthington was well known for her biscuits and sweets. Her love of reading and writing was expressed by her involvement in The Life Long Learning Program.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Worthington; and a sister, Patsy R. Dunn.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Steiner and husband, Rene', of Greenville; sons, Kirby Clark and wife, Connie, of Winterville and Tony Clark and wife, Joyce, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Wayne Clark Jr. and Bob, of Charlotte, Dana Tripp of Los Angeles, Matthew Clark and wife, Robyn, of Winterville, Charles Steiner and Kimberly Steiner, both of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Danica, Dahlia, Hadassah and Finn; sister, Rue Briley, of Hampton, Va.; brother, Jimmie Roberts of Greenville; and her cherished, Siamese cat, Bivins.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Mission Fund at The Pentecostals, 2950 S. Memorial Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
