Mr. Van Sutton, 51, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Homestead Memorial Gardens.
Van, a native of the Pactolus community of Pitt County, had made his home in the Belvoir community for the past 21 years. He had been employed with North American Fiberglass in Greenville and HC Composites in Tarboro until he had to retire due to ill health in 2013. He also worked with the Pitt County Fair for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Penny Marlow Sutton of Belvoir; son, Dustin Ray and wife, Megan, and granddaughter, Olivia Marie, all of Littleton, Colo.; parents, Paul and Patty Jane Sutton; brothers, Paul Sutton Jr. (whose wife Linda passed away in 2011), Jasper Sutton and wife, Andrea, and Jeff Sutton and wife, Lynette, all of Greenville; several nieces, nephews and special aunts and uncles; a special friend who was like a brother, Mike Hamill; and a number of other very special friends that were like family to him.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
