Robert Gray O'Neal, 58, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at his home with the loving comfort of close family.
A graveside ceremony will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Pinewood Memorial Park to honor Robert's memory.
Robert was a native of Tarboro. He resided in his hometown before entering the Navy in 1983. He completed 10 years of service with the Navy before moving to Greenville, which has been Robert's home for the past 20 years. He had a career in construction and real estate. One of Robert's most prideful accomplishments within the construction industry was completing renovations at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Robert, a real estate business owner, founded Arlington Properties in 2000. He took great pride in his company as broker–in-charge. Robert and his fiancée, Yvette Lewis, worked together side by side operating a successful business. Aside from operating his business, Robert enjoyed fishing, tennis, and spending time with friends and family. In his free time, he enjoyed building and working outside at his home.
Robert was always humorous, full of life, and he loved to socialize. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jeanette Bobbit; and grandparents, SJ and May Norris.
He is survived by his fiancée, Yvette Lewis; parents, Bobby O'Neal and Carolyn O'Neal; his three children, Megan O'Neal, Katie O'Neal and Paxton O'Neal; his siblings, Michael O'Neal, Sheila O'Neal and Chris O'Neal. Survived also by Robert were close friends, Robert Mewborn and Eric Ellison.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
A special thanks to Linn Henson, Linda Smith, Christy Tugwell and Deborah Parnell of 3HC Hospice Care.
