Henry Shephard "Goose" Rogers

BEAR GRASS - Henry Shephard "Goose" Rogers, 81 went to be with his Lord from his home in Bear Grass on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

He was born in Martin County to the late Minga Etheridge and Annie Mae Cowin Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Williams Rogers; his two children, Jason Rogers of Florida and Constance Rogers of California.

Mr. Rogers was retired from the Martin County School System where he worked as a teacher and coach. He enjoyed tennis, swimming, fishing and sports of every kind. He spent many happy hours with his best buddy Henry Cowen. He dedicated many years of service to his community through the Gideons, Jaycees, Ruritans and the Bear Grass Fire Department.

He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ. From an early age he professed his love for the Lord and his church and dedicated his life to Christian service.

Mr. Rogers was predeceased by his three sisters; Betty Rogers Boney, Mary Jane Rogers Hatcher and Doris Rogers.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:30 pm in the chapel at Biggs Funeral Home with burial at Oak City Cemetery. His family will receive friends at Biggs Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday evening, January 12, 2019.
