Jesse Fleming Obituary

Mr. Jesse Marcellus Fleming III, 75, known by many as "Buddy" went to be with his Lord and Saviour Friday, April 20, 2007, at the Golden Living Center. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 5 p.m. at Peoples Baptist Church with Pastor Max Barton and the Rev. Doug Weber officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Fleming was born in Pitt County and lived most of his life in Greenville. He had worked for Proctor and Gamble and most recently with The Daily Reflector. He also did volunteer work at Greenville Villa, currently Golden Living Center, assisting the handicapped residents. Mr. Fleming was a member of Peoples Baptist Church, The Auditorium Class and The Joy Club. Mr. Fleming also enjoyed bowling, TV, puzzles and reading the paper. Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Marcellus Fleming Jr. and Doris Mae Powell Fleming; brother, William P. Fleming and a sister, Polly F. Stokes. He is survived by his sister, Lou F. Woodard and husband, David, of Greenville; nephew, Douglas Earl Stokes and wife, Dianne, of Phenix City, Ala.; niece, Deborah Pienkowski and husband, John of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; cousin, Willard Fleming Jackson and wife, Slay, of Greenville ; also surviving is his pet dog "Misty." In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to People's Baptist Church, 1621 S.W. Greenville Blvd., Greenville, NC 27834. Arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory.

It was a pleasure spending time with Mr. Flemming for the time I knew him at Golden Living Center. He would always keep his hat and two pairs of glasses nearby...He will be missed...God Bless
