Beth was born on November 27, 1928, to the late Estelle Gardner and Samuel Burney Kittrell.

Growing up in Grifton and Pinetops, NC, she was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Pinetops and First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. After graduating from Saint Mary's High School in Raleigh, NC, she attended and graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. In 1948, she was presented at the Terpsichorean Debutante Ball. While living in Winston-Salem, Beth was a member of the Junior League. She eventually moved to Greenville, NC where she retired from Pitt County Social Services as a supervisor. She was also on the Pitt County Council on Aging. After retirement, Beth and her daughter, Betsy, owned and operated "Little by Little", a children's boutique, of which she was extremely proud. In her free time, she found happiness in volunteering at "My Sister's Closet". An avid lover of books, she was also a member of the Pickwick Book Club and the Lenoir-Pitt Chapter of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the state of North Carolina. Beth had a wonderful sense of style and a wonderful sense of humor. She always loved to laugh and have a good time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
