ROBERSONVILLE - Wallace Lee James Sr., 82, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at his home.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville with Kurt Honican officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Martin County on May 15, 1931, to the late Irvin and Gladys Keel James. He was a farmer, a landowner and a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. On Dec. 24, 1950, he married Bessie Mae Taylor James.
Mr. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill James and Irvin James; and a sister, Claudia Johnson.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughters, Becky Strickland of Robersonville, Betty Jo Manning and husband, Dale, of Winterville and Brenda Glaze and husband, Oscar, of Little River, S.C.; sons, Wallace James Jr., Johnny James and wife, Linda, and Jeffrey James and wife, Tracy, all of Robersonville; grandchildren, T. J. James, Trey James, Casey Blakely, J. Dale Manning, Brandon Manning, Brooks Peed, Lindsay Dunning and Taylor James; great-grandchildren, Madeline Manning, Mary Clare Manning, Will Manning, Maggie Grace Manning, Brayden Blakely, Camren Peed and Allie Peed.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the residence, 2824 Flat Swamp Road, Robersonville.
