ROBERSONVILLE - Martha Dell Bowen Roebuck, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the Hospice Center in Greenville. A native of Martin County, she was born Jan. 2, 1928, the daughter of Homer Bryant and Essie Mae Gurganus Bowen. Martha was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a generous friend and neighbor.

In 1946, Martha was married to William Russell Roebuck. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Robersonville since 1936 where she taught Sunday School for 25 years, served as a G. A. leader for ten years, and willingly served in any capacity. She was a member of various clubs and organizations including the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Daniel Bowen Sr.
She will be best remembered for her love of flowers and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Russell; daughter, Phyllis Virginia Roebuck of Williamston; two grand-dogs, Ally and Lexi, nephew, Lawrence Daniel Bowen and wife, Gay; and grand-nephew, William Russell Bowen of Lake City, Fla.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Delmus Ayers officiating; burial will follow at Robersonville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30-8 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the residence 109 Dell Street.
