ROBERSONVILLE - Rachel Harrison Coltrain, 88, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel in Robersonville with the Rev. Brooks Wadsworth and the Rev. Delmus Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Coltrain was born in Martin County on May 8, 1924, daughter of the late William Roy and Lavinia Cowin Harrison. She was retired from Robersonville Library where she worked with BHM. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church.
Her husband, Simon Coltrain; a sister, Vader Hodges; and a brother, Ben Harrison preceded her in death.
On Feb. 26, 1943, she married Simon Coltrain who died May 25, 1987.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda Rose and husband, Vernon of Arapahoe, Nancy Fenske and husband, Charlie, of Louisburg, and Anita House and husband, Jimmy, of Bethel; sister, Becky Boyd and husband, Linny, of Williamston; grandchildren, Gina Oakley and husband, Jeff, Jason Rose and wife, Patricia, Joshua Rose and wife, Rebecca, Lucas Fenske, Sarah Fenske, and Jim House; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30-8 at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the residence, 702 N. Grimes St.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Robersonville.
