Mrs. Donna Stowe Wooten, 68, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill Sherman. A private family burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
A native of Beaufort County, Donna was a graduate of Washington High School and attended East Carolina University. She was a longtime member of Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, the Fidelis Book Club and the Senior German Club of Pitt County.
Donna will be fondly remembered as a warm and giving person. She greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, crafting and traveling to Atlantic Beach as she had a love for the ocean. In her later years, she enjoyed making new friends at Cypress Glen. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William Isler Wooten Jr., in 2012; brothers, Benjamin and Edward Stowe; and sister, Florence Roebuck.
She is survived by daughters, Margaret Wooten Pierson and husband, Noah, of Wilmington and Pattie Wooten Foote and husband, Gary, of Winterville; son, William I. Wooten III and wife, Erin, of Greenville; grandchildren, Ethan Pierson, Molly Pierson, Van Pierson, Wade Wooten and Benjamin Wooten; sister, Margaret Ann Hargett of Wilmington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
