William Leroy Jackson Sr., 80, of Ayden, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He was born on Feb. 3, 1934 in Greene County to Glenn and Sallie B. Jackson. Leroy attended Black Jack Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, horses and mostly spending times with his grand and great-grandchildren.

Leroy was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Jackson Tripp.
He is survived by his son, Leroy Jackson Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Winterville; daughter, Deborah Jackson Parks and husband, Taylor, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brother, Al Shirley and wife, Gladys, of Hookerton; three sisters, Sue Roddy and husband, Gene, of Kinston, Dorothy Fillingame and husband, George and Evelyn Fillingame and husband, Linwood, all of Vanceboro; four grandchildren, Shannon Mills, Jamie Rouse, Trevor Jones and Niki Parks; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Hoggard, Jaxson Mills, Karleigh Rouse and Trenton Rouse.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Farmer Funeral Service-Ayden. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Leroy Jackson.
