Mrs. Ida McLawhorn Evans, 97, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evans, a native of Pitt County, was a lifelong resident of Greenville. She was a member of the Pactolus Home Ext. Club. Mrs. Evans was also a member of Parker's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was part of the Olivia Whichard Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Evans; and a son, Davis C. Evans.
She is survived by her daughters, Jerleen Evans Harper, of Spotsylvania, Va., Glenda Evans Wynn and husband, Donnie, of Washington, N.C., and Frankie Evans Arndt, of Peoria, Ariz.; grandchildren, Vickie Dalton and husband, Ralph, Cindy Terra and husband, Rick, Donnell McLawhorn and husband, Conrad, Keith Wynn and wife, Teresea, Davis Evans, Jr. and wife, Denise, Chris Evans and wife, Lauri, Adam Arndt and wife, Lisa, Ron Arndt and Lisa Arndt; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
