Mrs. Lorette Osborne Colombo, 90, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Johnny Branch and the Rev. Karen Crutchfield.

Mrs. Colombo, a native of Martin County, lived her early life in Robersonville. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Atlantic Christian College, where she met her husband, Vincent J. Colombo. After their marriage, they lived in eastern North Carolina from 1947 until 1971 when they moved to Shelby. In 2005, they returned to eastern North Carolina and made their home in Cypress Glen community. A longtime Methodist, Mrs. Colombo taught Sunday School for 40 years and became a member of St. James United Methodist Church when she moved to Greenville.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dr. Vincent J. Colombo; son, Michael A. Colombo and wife, Brenda, of Greenville; daughter, Karen C. Calhoun and husband, Rick, of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Allen Colombo and wife, Sarah and Wendy C. Pedraza and husband, Michael; and four great-grandchildren, Rainer, Mia, Beckett and Millie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cypress Glen, Benevolence Care Fund, 100 Hickory Street, Greenville, NC 27858.
