Edward W. Levin

Dr. Levin peacefully joined his wife, Doris J. Levin in the Church Triumphant after a brief illness on June 26, 2017. Dr. Levin was born on February 12, 1924 and was a native of Queens, NY, he served in WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was called to ministry and served many years as a Pastor in the Church of the Nazarene. A crowning achievement was the design and construction of a Youth Center at the Community Church of the Nazarene in Freeport, NY. He was a faithful servant to his congregations, a pioneer in integrating his flock, and a generous friend to the homeless and outcast. He was a talented builder and manager of major construction projects. He was a loving Father to his three sons, beloved by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the congregation of Ayden United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sons: Dr. Edward W. Levin, Jr., Rev. Dennis P. Levin, Sr. and Dr. Timothy R. Levin and their families. He had five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren.

Visitation is set for Tuesday, June 27th at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden from 6-8:00pm; Funeral to be held on Wednesday, June 28th at Ayden United Methodist Church. The family requests memorial gifts to Ayden United Methodist church in lieu of flowers.
