AYDEN - Irene McLawhorn Williamson, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Vonnie Jones. Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Ayden Cemetery.
Irene was born on Dec. 29, 1928, to Lloyd and Minnie McLawhorn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Alfred Williamson; her parents; sister, Jean M. Stocks; and a brother, William Earl McLawhorn. She was a member of Elm Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Irene LuVon "Vonnie" Jones and husband, Dennis, of Greenville, and Patricia Yvonne "Pattie" Moore and husband, A.C., of Ayden; sons, Randall James Williamson and wife, Caroline, of Pawleys Island, S.C., and the Rev. Barry Wayne Williamson and wife, Lisa, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Dennis Ray Jones Jr. and Misty J. Simmons of Greenville, the Rev. Matthew Jones of Scotland Neck, Candice M. Pender of Sevierville, Tenn., Cole Craft of Ayden, Nicholas, James Robert, and Justin Williamson of Pawleys Island, S.C., and David, Daniel, and Hannah Williamson of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, Joshua Harrell of Greenville, Peyton and Jude Simmons of Greenville, Micah Jones of Scotland Neck, and Alyssa Craft of Greenville; three brothers, Lloyd McLawhorn of South Carolina, Terry McLawhorn of Georgia and Bill Jones, of Ayden; three step-grandchildren, Theresa Craft, of Raleigh and Derik and Crystal Moore, of Greenville.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at Farmer Funeral Service. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made in Irene's memory to Vidant Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 6028, Greenville, NC 27835 or Elm Grove FWB Church, 5413 Weyerhauser Rd., Ayden, NC 28513.
