The family invites all to join them following the service for a cookout celebrating Billy's life at the Riverside Community Lot on Riverside Road in Washington, N.C. Casual purple attire is encouraged.
Mr. Darrow was born on July 9, 1948 in Houma, La. to the late Charles Walker Darrow and Allene Woolard Darrow. The Darrow family moved to Washington when Billy was six months old. He was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School and a 1970 graduate of East Carolina University. Mr. Darrow served as Broker in Charge at Century 21 Real Estate of Washington for 20 years. He also owned and operated several businesses in the Washington area. Mr. Darrow was an active member of the Pirate Club, a former president of the Washington Jaycees, State Director of the N.C. Jaycees, served on the Washington City Council, and was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Washington, N.C.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, his special love for his children and grandchildren, and his unrelenting ministry of food, as he often served his church family by manning the grill. Towards the end of his life, Billy experienced a personal renaissance of faith, and his last days were full of joy.
