Mrs. Nancy Pate Cochran, 62, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Cochran was a native of Pitt County and a graduate of Rose High School. She attended ECU and Edgecombe Community College. She resided in Tarboro for many years where she was employed with the Edgecombe Department of Social Services, retiring as Economic Services Administrator with 30 years of service. She returned to Greenville in November, 2009 and was a member of Friends and Fellowship Christian Church in Winterville.
Nancy enjoyed arts and crafts, especially knitting and reading. An extremely loving and caring person, she was loyal to her family and friends. She enjoyed baby sitting for her great-nephew, Pate. Nancy will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie M. Pate.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Jenkins Cochran Sr.; a son, Jay Cochran and wife, Heather, of St. Cloud, Fla.; granddaughter, Isabella Cochran; stepson, Robbie Cochran of Alexandria, Va.; mother, Grace Tripp Pate of Greenville; sisters, Kathryn P. Allen and husband, Tim, of Winterville and Mary Grace P. O'Brien and husband, Kevin, of Apex; and brother, Billy Pate and wife, Simone, of Greenville.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home tonight from 6 to 8.
