John Douglas "Doug" Tyson, 68, a resident of Greenville, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 25, 2013, at home. He was the son of Ruby Bullock Tyson and the late Eugene Tyson of Greenville. Doug served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was currently employed at Greenville TV and Appliance and worked there for over 40 years. He also worked at Greenville Toyota for a few years as well.
He was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Tyson Loftin.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby; brother, Kermit Eugene Tyson and his wife, Kirsten; sister, Betsy Tyson Bunting and husband, Bonnie Ray, all of Greenville. Doug lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed socializing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He leaves behind many great friends and his beloved dog Buddy Roe that he adored.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at the Farmer Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. James Owens of Saints Delight OFWB Church. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at Farmer Funeral Home, Ayden. No graveside service, cremation to follow.
