TORRINGTON >> Patricia E. (Tartaglia) Manion, 73, of Torrington, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Robert G. Manion, Sr. for 46 years. Mrs. Manion was born April 27, 1940, in Winsted, daughter of the late Natale and Emily (Guiliano) Tartaglia.
She was employed by the Hartford Fire Insurance Company as a Customer Service Representative, she was a secretary at the Torrington Boy Scout Office, and was a Cafeteria Staff member at the Torringford School, from where she retired to help raise her granddaughters. She was also an aide and classroom assistant at Torringford School. She had a strong faith in Jesus and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and compassionate friend, Pat loved to read and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by one daughter, Lynn Alfieri and her husband Stephen; one son, Robert G. Manion, Jr., all of Torrington; two granddaughters, Amber and Emily Alfieri, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nonnie Tartaglia, Peter Spadaccini and two sisters, Lucy Brown and Connie Cremasco.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, with the cortege leaving Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
