BARTOLETTI, ROSANNE M. (PISANTE) Rosanne M. (Pisante) Bartoletti, 68, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Bartoletti. Rosanne was born September 8, 1946, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (Mancino) Pisante. She is survived by two sons, Gary Bartoletti and Jeffrey Bartoletti, both of Torrington, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Domenic Pisante, Joseph Millett, and Robert Millett. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis New Cemetery, 863 South Main St., Torrington, CT. PODOS, MIRIAM* - Canton  
PODOS, MIRIAM Miriam Podos, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 27 in Canton, Connecticut. She was the beloved wife for 60 years, of the late Bernard Podos. Born in Yorkville, New York on December 01, 1924, she was the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Kaslovsky) Manger. Upon graduation from high school, she worked as an attorney’s secretary and then as an accountant’s bookkeeper. Later in life, she worked as the secretary for her husband who was trucking manager at Steven’s Ford in Milford, CT. She was a past President of the PTA in Milford. While serving as President, she volunteered her time in the Milford School system presenting a program entitled “Dolls for Democracy”, which taught ethnic and religious tolerance to public school children. She taught Sunday school at Temple B’nai Shalom in Milford, served as President of B’nai Brith for Women, was a member of Hadassah, and represented the Jewish community as a member of the Brotherhood in Action, an organization designed to promote religious tolerance. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Byron Little of Minnesota, her sons and daughters-in-law Byron and Marie Podos, and Brandon and Linda Podos of Connecticut, along with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 30 at 10:00AM at the Sons of Jacob Cemetery on Winsted Rd. in Torrington, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in Miriam’s memory may be made to Beth El Synagogue, 124 Litchfield St. Torrington, CT. May her memory be a source of strength and a blessing. BARTH, BARBARA Barbara Barth of Torrington died on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was born in Waterbury, CT to Thomas and Helen Barth on December 11, 1946. After attending Waterbury schools, she graduated as a Registered Nurse from Mount Vernon Hospital School of Nursing in NY in 1967 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Saint Francis. She later moved to Denver, CO where she worked in the nursing field for over 30 years. Barbara retired to Torrington, CT in 2006. She is survived by her sister Patricia Pocius and her husband Kenneth of Narragansett, RI, her sister Candice Barth of Torrington, CT, several nephews and nieces, and loving and caring friends. FRATINI, PETER J.* - Winsted  
FRATINI, PETER J. WINSTED – Peter J. Fratini, 45, died peacefully Saturday, August 22, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Winsted, CT, on November 16, 1969, Peter is the son of John and Beverly (Simons) Fratini who were not only his parents, but his dear friends. Peter was a long time employee of Aetna, Inc., where he worked as a Senior Systems Engineer. He lived a full life in his short 45 years. Outside of work, Peter was a passionate hobbyist, outdoor enthusiast, and carpenter. An artist in his own right, Peter crafted boats and paddleboards, weaved baskets, and helped build homes for his family. He loved boating, biking, camping with friends, and traveling to the Caymans. But hiking mountaintops is where Peter claimed he found the simplicity with which he lived life. Peter was a good and humble man. Peter leaves his wife, Gina, and his daughter, Lila Grace - “the loves of his life.” He leaves his cherished sister and brother-in-law, Sandilynn and Michael Scherer and their children, Ian and Devon, his maternal grandfather, Irving Simons and mother- in-law, Mary Bascetta. Peter will be missed by a large extended family and many close friends. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street Winsted, CT from 4 – 7 PM with a memorial service at 7PM. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

VALLA, ANNA MARTINEK Anna Martinek Valla, 99, born in Torrington, CT, peacefully left us on August 17, 2015 while in hospice care at Stuart Nursing Center, Stuart, FL. Anna is survived by her daughter, Frances Menegus and son-in-law, Angelo Menegus, grandchildren, Craig Neri (Stacy Ingher) and Kara Rizzo (Tom) and great-grandchild John McInally. She was predeceased by her husband, John Valla, parents, John and Katherine (Koval) Martinek, daughter, Lorraine Sylvernale and grand-daughters, Donna Neri and Gianna Menegus, sisters, Catherine Pasko, Mary Chupka and brother, John Martinek. Anna greeted everyone with an award winning smile and was a very talented cook and knitter. She was loved by all and will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be held by the family in Torrington, CT, at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks we celebrate Anna’s memory through contributions to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Torrington, CT where she was a lifelong member and to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast where she made animal blankets for kittens and puppies. VINISKO, MICHAEL P. (MICKEY)* - Torrington  
VINISKO, MICHAEL P. (MICKEY) Michael P. (Mickey) Vinisko, 79, of Torrington, CT, passed away at Valerie Manor on Saturday, August, 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of his beloved wife Jackolyn (Rylander) Vinisko for 60 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 29, 1936, he was a son of the late Michael P. and Anna (Picone) Vinisko. He was a graduate of the Torrington High School Class of 1954. Along with his brother Jim, he was the co-owner of Torcon Direct Mail and Printing Service until he took a position as the Data Processing Manager with the Ducci Electric Company where he remained until his retirement. Mickey also was the former proprietor of Ed’s Package Store in Torrington. He was a lifelong member of the BPOE Elks #372, the Vatican Athletic Club, the Germania Society, and the Forresters Club. He was an avid Dodger fan who enjoyed golf, softball, bowling, and playing cards. In addition to his family and friends, Mickey loved a good party, a good cigar, all things Vegas, Sinatra and Elvis. In addition to his wife Jackie, he leaves his children, Kim Vinisko McLeod of Torrington, Valerie Vinisko of Sunnyvale, CA, Michael Vinisko of Los Angeles, CA, Michele McNamara and her husband Billy of Pleasant Valley, CT, and Mark Vinisko and his wife Lisa (Musselman) of Torrington. He also leaves his grandchildren, Kari McLeod, Kristin McLeod, Daniel McLeod, Corey Vinisko, Jessica Middlebrook, Baylee Vinisko and Jason Vinisko. He also leaves his special great-granddaughter Stella Plavcan, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Jim and his son Matthew. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of the Meadowview Unit at Valerie Manor for their compassionate care during Mickey’s stay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington with burial following at St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church.
