WINSTED >> Jeanne E. Pettit, RN, 86, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at her home. She was the wife of Francis (Frank) Pettit, Sr. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dec. 11, 1925, daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Atkinson) Congdon, she had lived in Winsted since 1956.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Winsted Memorial Hospital for 17 years. She was a graduate of Bishop McDonald High School, Mary Immaculate Heart School of Nursing, New York University
, St. John's University and Yale.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her children, James Pettit and his wife Catherine of Bethlehem, Francis Pettit, Jr. and his wife Ellen of Winsted, Jeanne Fox and her husband Justin of Windsor and Ann Boucher and her husband Peter of Vancouver, Washington; two sisters, Sister Dolores Congdon MM of Ossining, New York, Lucille Meyer of Florida; a brother-in-law Edward Saraniero, of Ohio; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Anna Marie Saraniero.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. from the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, to St. Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when we leave for Mass.
