Dr. Leonard Kocis(1946 - 2013)

TORRINGTON >> Dr. Leonard Kocis, 66, of Torrington passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Kerry (McWilliams) Kocis. Leonard was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey on July 13, 1946, a son of the late Stella (Hartmann) and Joseph Kocis.
He was a graduate of Morehead State University in Kentucky and New York Chiropractic College. He was Board Certified in Occupational Health owning Kocis Chiropractic in Torrington. He served as Vice President for Connecticut Chiropractic Association. Prior to his career as a Chiropractor he was a caterer for several Rock and Roll Bands, including The Marshall Tucker Band The Grateful Dead and the Jackson's 1984 Victory Tour. He was a Sixth Degree Black Belt, and was a Past Exalted Ruler at Torrington Elks Lodge #372 where he was instrumental in the operation of their pond functions
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children Kevin, Bryan, and Sara of Torrington and a brother Joseph Kocis and wife Carol of Saugerties New York.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
