TORRINGTON >> Lisa J. (Rivers) LeClair, age 53, of Torrington, passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at her home after a long illness. Lisa`s battle was courageous and an inspiration to all. Lisa was born in Torrington on Aug. 16, 1960, to Barbara (Fabbri) Rivers and the late Raymond E. Rivers, Jr. of Torrington.
She was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical School of Torrington, and of the Thompson School of Nursing of Brattleboro, Vermont. A licensed practical nurse for many years, she had worked at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Wolcott Hall Health Care in Torrington, and Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. Her profession reflected her passion of helping and caring for others. Lisa enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, embroidery, cooking, camping and the company of many friends and family.
In addition to her mother, Lisa is survived by her husband, Edmund LeClair; a son Christian LeClair; her sister JoAnn Abeling; brothers Raymond C. Rivers and Robert J. Rivers; step-son Aaron LeClair; and loving mother-in-law Josephine LeClair, all of Torrington; in addition to several nieces and nephews. Lisa was predeceased by a son, Michael Miasek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 71 North St., Goshen. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.
