Mary Elizabeth (King) Daly

NORFOLK >> Mary Elizabeth King Daly passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013. She was the wife of the late Dr. Donald M. Daly. She was born in West Hartford, the only daughter of the late Francis A. and Irene B. King and was predeceased by her two brothers, Francis and Robert.
Mary Elizabeth loved living in the town of Norfolk and frequented the Library and the Immaculate Conception Church, where she was married (and loved the stained glass windows). She loved to talk…. to anyone and everyone! Her passions were cats of unusual breeds, her plants, teaching and playing mahjong, yoga, puttering around the house, or seeing what little treasure she might find at an antique store or tag sale. She enjoyed her own family and greatly treasured her King family nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Mary Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Michael of Washington, DC, Matthew and his wife, Aurora, of Torrington, and Thomas of Norfolk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 North Street (Rte. 272), Norfolk. Burial will be held later in the year at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, the Norfolk Library, or the Mary B. Wheeler Scholarship Fund at the Gilbert School in Winsted. To leave an online condolence, please visit
