CHARLES J. INNES

INNES, CHARLES J. Charles J. Innes, 95, of Farmington, husband of the late Florence (Pearson) Innes, passed away on November 5, 2015 at Middlewoods of Farmington. Born in Torrington, he was a former New Britain resident, moving to Farmington in 1950. A graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 1937, he served with the US Army during World War II and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1952. Charles worked at Ingersoll-Rand and for the Torrington Company for 28 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Unity Lodge # 148, AF&AM and was a life member of the Farmington VFW Post. Surviving is a brother, Donald J. Innes Sr. of Torrington; two nieces, Margaret Innes of Westbrook, Maine and Susan Innes of Manchester Center, Vermont; and two nephews, Andrew Innes of Falmouth, Maine and Dr. Donald J. Innes of Charlottesville, Virginia. Charles was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Innes and Martin Paul Innes. A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting with arrangements.
