Agostino `Tino` J. Reginatto, (owner of Tino`s Shoe Service), 83, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013, surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Ernestine (Staino) Reginatto for 61 years. Tino was born August 13, 1930, in Grappa, Italy, son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Scopal) Reginatto. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Among the awards and decorations he received upon his honorable discharge were the Parachute Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. The owner of Tino`s Shoe Service, he was a master at his trade that he was dedicated to for over 59 years. Tino`s craftsmanship was only surpassed by his many kindnesses and genuine smile. A member of the Veneta Club, a former member of the Elk`s Lodge, he was an avid bowler, past vice-president of the Merchant`s league, and a communicant of St. Peter Church. In addition to his devoted wife Ernie, he is survived by three sons, Joseph Reginatto and his wife Cindy of Las Vegas, NV, Jerry Reginatto and his wife Melissa and James Reginatto and his wife Brenda, both of Torrington; one brother, Gino Reginatto and his wife Judy of Torrington; four grandchildren, Jay Reginatto and his wife Gina, Scott Reginatto, Tyler Reginatto, Lexi Reginatto, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
