TORRINGTON >> William J. Hannafin, 65, of Torrington, passed away Tuesday, April 30, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
He was born in Queens, New York on Jan. 25, 1948, a son of the late Eleanor (Zweck) and James Hannafin and was a graduate of Matre Christe High Class of 1965 and Manhattan College Class of 1969, where he played baseball.
He served with the US Marines. He was a self-employed Entrepreneur. A good father and grandfather, he enjoyed golf and Yankees Baseball.
He is survived by two sons, Terrence Hannafin and wife Ann of Old Greenwich and their children Jack and Patrick, and James B. Hannafin and wife Adaleza of Forest Hills, New York and their daughter Teghan. He also leaves brothers James, Michael, and Robert Hannafin and sisters Gale Royston, Patricia Reilly, and Joan Lindner, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson Joseph.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Anthony Church, 49 South St., Litchfield, CT, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3. Friends may call Thursday 5 to 9 p.m. at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington.
