TORRINGTON >> Caterina (Perugini) Albini, 88, of Torrington, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Nicola Albini for 66 years. Mrs. Albini was born on Feb. 24, 1924 in Pontelandolfo, Italy, daughter of the late Pasquale Perugini and Giuseppa (Rinaldi) Perugini.
She was employed by the Hotchkiss Brothers until her retirement in 1980. She loved her family, loved to garden and loved to cook meals for her family.
In addition to her husband Nicola, she is survived by one daughter, Elisa (Albini) Calabrese and son-in-law Giovanni Calabrese, two grandsons, Nicholas Sal Calabrese, Mark Calabrese and his wife Tina (Tedeschi) Calabrese, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Brigida (Perugini) Albini and three brothers, Nicola, Donato, and Francesco Perugini.
The family wishes to especially thank VNS Hospice, Deborah Sims and the entire team for the care, compassion and support given to Caterina as well as to her entire family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at 9 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT. The family is requesting that all relatives and friends meet directly at St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in St. Francis Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.
