Cynthia Peasley Roy, 73, of Collinsville, beloved wife of John M. Roy, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born May 3, 1940 in Torrington, daughter of the late Conrad Phelps and Verna (Benjamin) Peasley and had lived in Syracuse, NY and Manchester prior to moving to Collinsville over 40 years ago.
Mrs. Roy was a Dental Assistant and a Licensed Hair Dresser for many years prior to her retirement. Cindy was very active in the Canton Little League and the Canton High School Booster Club and loved cheering on her sons sports teams, both while they were playing and coaching at Canton High School. She also enjoyed, flowers, shopping on QVC, watching Duke Men's Basketball and adoring and spoiling her pets.
Besides her loving husband of 51 years, she is survived by her two sons, Brian "Clubber" Roy of Canton and Keith Roy and wife Sherie of Myrtle Beach, SC; two granddaughters, Heather and Hollie Roy; her sister, Cherie Centrella and her husband John of Torrington and two nieces, Randi and Jaime Centrella of Torrington, CT.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 22nd, 10:00 AM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:00 Am to 10:00 AM. Memorial donations in Cindy's name may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
