TORRINGTON >> Edward C. Kelley died on March 17, 2013. Born May 15, 1928 he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Hanrahan) Kelley and was a lifelong resident of Torrington.
Mr. Kelley was a graduate of Cranwell Preparatory School, Lenox, Mass. and attended Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island. He was an Army veteran serving in the states and Korea.
He was Vice President of the E.J. Kelley, Co and manager of the trucking division for many years. He was a 50 year member of the Elks Lodge #372 and a former board member of the Torrington Red Cross. Ed was known for his kindness and good humor and he enjoyed traveling and golf.
Mr. Kelley is survived by his sister Joan T. Kelley, his devoted friend and companion Susan Novajosky both of Torrington, and two nieces Attorney Ann Fisher of Washington Depot and Attorney Hilary Fisher Nelson of Harwinton. He also leaves six grand nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Thomas A. Kelley, Jr., his sister Elizabeth Kelley Fisher and his nephew Thomas G. Fisher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main Street. Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home 258 Prospect St., Torrington on Wednesday, March 20, from 4 to 7 p.m.
