DOMBROWSKI, EDWARD A. Edward Alexander Dombrowski, 90, of Winsted, CT, peacefully passed away Monday, November 18, 2013. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Helen (Ozirsky) Dombrowski. Mr. Dombrowski was born October 18, 1923, in Winsted, CT, the son of the late Ceslowa (Banach) and Joseph Dombrowski. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in the Philippine Islands in the Southwest Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Among the awards and decorations he received upon his Honorable Discharge were the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. He graduated from St. Anthony School, Gilbert School, and the Porter School of Machine Design. He was employed by Son Chief Electric in Winsted and later Waring Products in New Hartford from where he retired in 1989. A lifelong Red Sox fan, his greatest passion and pride was watching his children and grandchildren partaking in their sports activities. In addition to his devoted wife Helen, he is survived by three children, Diane Cook and her husband H. Daniel, and their son Gary; David Dombrowski and his wife Nancy and their children Christopher, Matthew and Timothy; Dr. Dennis Dombrowski and his wife Debra and their children Devon, Daniel, Douglas and Deanna; one brother, J. Alfred Dombrowski and his wife Marjorie, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Kevin Cook, and two sisters, Laura Bassett Dall and Wanda Veremko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak St., Winsted, CT. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church or to St. Anthony School, both addressed to P.
