Waterbury >> Emily L. (DeAngelo) Johnson, 85, of East Main Street passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at her home with her family by her side.

Emily was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Torrington to the late Antonio and Clementine (D`Angelo) DeAngelo. She attended local schools and worked at various factories in both Torrington and Waterbury.
Emily enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially the Sunday family pasta dinners and card games. She was an avid fan of UCONN Women`s Basketball and Boston Red Sox Baseball.
The Johnson family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her aides Beatrice and Lebo and Seasons Home Hospice for their compassion and exceptional care shown to Emily and her family.
Emily is survived by her daughters, Holly and her husband Joe Rubbo of Waterbury, and Sara Johnson of Prospect, a brother, Charles DeAngelo of Torrington, three grandchildren; Mario and Marc Rubbo of Waterbury and Breanna Pelosi of Prospect along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Louis, Tillio, Raymond, Ernesto (Sonny) and Weed DeAngelo and five sisters, Yolanda Morse, Anna Rossi, Nan Milak, Elsie DiLullo and Lucy DeAngelo.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
