TORRINGTON >> Helen G. Grammatica, 88, formerly of East Main Street, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Valerie Manor, Torrington. She was the wife of the late Daniel A. Grammatica. Mrs. Grammatica was born in Torrington on March 30, 1925, daughter of the late Stefano and Santa (DiPietro) Rulli and was a lifelong Torrington resident.
She was a retired Machine Operator with Turner and Seymour, retiring in 1981 with over twenty years of service. Mrs. Grammatica was a member of American Legion Auxillary, Anita Garibaldi Society and the Sullivan Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino.
Survivors include a son; Ernest B. Zavatkay, two daughters; Beverly A. Lapointe and Brenda L. Fijalkowski, all of Torrington, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
