WINSTED >> James Wightwood, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. He was the husband of Janet (Stanton) Wightwood for 33 years. Born July 22, 1931 in New Britain; the son of the late Walter and Marguerite (Hoffman) Wightwood.
Jim proudly served in the U. S. Navy during Korea. He retired from Wire Mold in West Hartford after 34 years. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W., Redman's and Elks Clubs.
In addition to his wife, he leaves; a son, Steven Wightwood of Torrington; five daughters, Debra (Joe) Fazioli of Winsted, Christine (Jeff) Taylor of Harwinton, Darlene Jensen of Winsted, Peggy (Scott) Saunders of Barkhamsted and Patty (Gary) Jamieson of Torrington; a sister, Mitzie Hardy of New York; grandchildren, Brooke, Derek, Tommy, Michael, Danielle, Dana, Shelby and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nikolia and Tommy; special niece, Kathy Cadrain; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted at 11 a.m. with full Military Honors.
