THOMASTON >> Josephine J. (D`Angelo) Fairchild, 81, of Thomaston, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. She was the wife of the late Adolph 'Cooney' Fairchild who predeceased her in 1954 and of the late James J. Fairchild who predeceased her in 1997. Josephine was born on April 26, 1931, in Torrington, daughter of the late Carmine and Rachel (D'Angelo) D'Angelo.

She was the co-owner and operator of Faircrest Poultry for 40 years. She was a member of the Thomaston Women's Club. An avid Bridge player, she won numerous awards and competitions.
She is survived by three sons, William R. Fairchild and his wife Patricia of Torrington, James J. Fairchild, Jr. of Thomaston who was her devoted caregiver, Joseph J. Fairchild and his wife Traci of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one daughter, Sandra J. Warner and her husband Roger Rogowski of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann D`Angelo.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, with the cortege leaving at noon from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
