TORRINGTON >> Joyce C. Reilly, 68, of East Elm Street, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of James M. Reilly. Mrs. Reilly was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on Sept. 11, 1944, daughter of Lillian (Zlata) Yakubowski of Torrington and the late Anton Yakubowski and was a Torrington area resident for most of her life.

Joyce was a Program Director with the Torrington Area Youth Service Bureau, where she had been employed for the past 25 years. She was fondly known as the "Christmas Angel" for her work at the bureau that distributed 736 gifts to children last year. Her devotion to her work and the enjoyment she received from it was second only to her love and devotion for her family, especially her mother and grandchildren. She truly enjoyed everything she was able to do in caring for them.
Survivors in addition to her mother and husband include a daughter; Jennifer Ives-Groebl and her husband, Joseph, of Torrington, two brothers; Thomas Gregory and his wife, Patti, of Smyrna, Georgia and David Young and his wife, Shelly, of Greenville, South Carolina, two grandchildren; Mattheu Groebl and Jacob Groebl, one niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17 at 11 a.m., at Center Congregational Church, 155 Main Street, Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Tuesday, April 16 from 5 to 7 p.m., at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington.
