NORTH CANAAN >> Miss Keri Lyn Perotti, age 21, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, Oct. 13, 2012.
Keri was born March 5, 1991 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts and is the daughter of Charles and Bonnie Perotti of North Canaan. Keri was a lifelong Canaan resident who worked as parts manager at her family owned business William Perotti and Sons Plumbing and Heating. She was a 2009 graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School where she was a three sport varsity athlete playing soccer, basketball and softball. She was currently attending Northwestern Community College.
Nothing was more important to Keri than the time she spent with family and friends. She was extremely close to her sisters and enjoyed helping to plan and organize their recent weddings. She was an avid Boston Bruins and New York Yankee fan. She took joy in watching and attending their games. The final Yankee game that she attended was last week when she witnessed game three of the division series where the Yankees won in 12 innings against the Baltimore Orioles. She loved attending concerts and telling the story about how she met the Jonas Brothers and One Direction backstage.
Keri took great pride in her community and was a constant presence at fire company functions including parades, the carnival and railroad days. The time she spent with her fire company family also included volleyball picnics, yearly vacations and holiday parties. She loved playing second base for the Captain Crew softball team and cherished the time she spent with her friends.
Her loving family includes her parents, two sisters and their spouses, Shannon and David Mlodzinski of Wethersfield, and Marci and Derek Saunders of Warren. She is also survived by her great aunt Shirley of Sheffield, her aunt Anna Fallon and her husband Jerry, uncle Frank Perotti and his wife Jean all of Canaan; her aunt Ida Leonard and her husband Ronald of Hartsville, Massachusetts; aunt Judith Corbett of Great Barrington, Massachusetts; as well as several cousins. She also leaves behind many close friends and teammates.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 4 Main Street, Canaan. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Newkirk Palmer Funeral Home on 118 Main Street, Canaan. In addition to flowers, donations can be made in Keri's name to the North Canaan Fire Company or North Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
