TORRINGTON >> Kurt Gerard Fritch, 62, of Torrington, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Torrington on May 12, 1951 to the late Robert and Elaine (Peterson) Fritch of Warren. Kurt was the husband of the late Janetta (Anderson) Fritch.
He graduated from Wamogo High School in 1969 and the Culinary Institute of America in 1971 and was a member of the Veneta Society of Torrington and the Foresters Club of Torrington.
Kurt is survived by his sons, Justin Fritch and Kyle Fritch, both of Torrington, his brothers, Karl Fritch of Oakdale, Kerry Fritch of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Robert Fritch of Campbell, California, Kevin Fritch of Warren, Gerry Fritch of Bethel, his sisters, Kathy Allen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sharon Miller of Glendale, Arizona, Sheryl Maher of Avon, and Kristen Goodyear of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. And a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, Kurt was predeceased by his sister Karen Fritch of Winsted.
The family will have calling hours and a celebration of Kurt's life at the Veneta Society, 108 Central Ave., Torrington, CT on Friday, Sept. 20 from 5 to 10 p.m.
