NEW HARTFORD >> Lindsley "Lenny" M. Carlson, passed away on Jan. 14, 2013. He was the loving husband of Mary Ellen (Kelsey) Carlson for 61 years. Born June 26, 1926 in Flushing, Long Island; the son of the late Eugene and Anna (Ey) Carlson.
Lenny served in the United States Army during
World War II
in the Army Corps of Engineers. He worked for the Town of New Hartford for 20 years and was known as the "Mayor" of West Hill.
The family would like to thank Wolcott Hall Nursing Facility and Staff for all their loving care.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen, he leaves a son, Michael L. Carlson and wife Christine of Winchester; a daughter, Theresa E. Carlson of New Hartford; two sisters, Marie Seamon and Adele Caritey; grandchildren, Jeffrey and wife Nunuz, Jonathon and fiancé Jillian, Melissa, Rebecca and Victoria; great-grandchildren, Joey, Reise, Bennett and Kennedy; many, many nieces and nephews as well as Sandy Wilcox, a special family friend. He was predeceased by siblings, Harold, Eugene, Thomas, Clifford, Dorothy, Alfred, Anne, William and Warren.
Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 17, at Montano- Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford from 5 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow at 7 p.m. with Military Honors. Visit an online guestbook at
