TORRINGTON >> Marie Cesaro, age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital following a brief illness.
A lifelong Torrington, Connecticut resident, Marie attended local schools and graduated from Central Connecticut State College. She taught kindergarten and first grade for 37 years at South School and Torringford School in Torrington. She was a member of the Torrington Education Association and the Connecticut Education Association, and also served several terms on the Torrington Beautification Committee. She also spent many years as a volunteer at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Marie was an avid UCONN basketball fan, and enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and trips to Vermont and New York State in pursuit of antiques.
She is survived by several aunts, nieces and nephews, and her special dog, 'Molly.'
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19, at St. Peter`s Church in Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery in Torrington. Family and friends may call at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
