TORRINGTON >> Robert E. Bachman, 85, of Torrington, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gloria Capuano Bachman. He was born in Bristol, on May 18, 1928, a son of the late Irene (Conlon) and Vincent Bachman and served in the US Army from 1950-1952, awarded the Army of Occupation Medal, Germany.
He worked as a production control manager at Sessions Clock and later Seth Thomas. An avid gardener and golfer, he was a long time member of Eastwoods Country Club and their Retirees League and a member at Four Lakes CC in Florida, and was a Life Member of Torrington Elks Lodge.
He is survived by two daughters, Judi Magyar, and husband Bruce of Torrington and their children Katie and husband Michael Delany, and Robert and wife Melody Andrighetti; and Audrey Bigliazzi and husband Lindy of West Hartland and their children Lindy and wife Lori Bigliazzi and Kevin and wife Amy Bigliazzi, as well as four great grandchildren. He also leaves his long time companion Helen Stevens, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Torrington, CT, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, with Rev. Michael Millum officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
