TORRINGTON >> Stephen Charlton, 74, of Shepard Road died March 2, 2013 at Spectrum Health Care in Torrington. He was the husband of Shirley (Bottum) Charlton. Stephen was born Aug. 18, 1938 in Warwick, Rhode Island the son of the late Alvin and Rhoda (Sheldon) Charlton.
He served in the United States Navy. He worked in Construction with Don Marchand and OG Construction and also worked for the Town of Norfolk on the big boy toys for many years. He was a long time member of the Rod and Gun Club in Canaan.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Curtiss of Norfolk and two sons, Scott Charlton of Virginia and Gardiner Charlton of New York; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 4 p.m. at the Botelle Chapel in Norfolk, CT.
