BUTLER, VIRGINIA RANSOM Virginia (Ransom) Butler, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She is the wife of the late Kenneth H. Butler for 53 years. She was a member of the Riverton Grange for over 75 years. She was National Treasure of the American Folk Musicians Association and a member of the Second Congregational Church of West Hartland. She leaves three daughters, Carolyn Abney and her husband Joseph of Tuzson, AZ, Sally Dewey of West Hartland and Virginia Monteith and her husband Thomas of Granville, MA; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, James Butler. Friends may call on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 6 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Second Congregational Church, West Hartland at 1PM. Burial will be held in the spring.
