WINSTED >> William Angus, 91, passed away on Saturday, March 16, at his home. He was the loving husband of Edna Angus for 70 years. Born Sept. 9, 1921 in Waterbury, the son of the late William and Alice (Robinson) Angus.
William was a lifelong resident of Winsted. He served for the United States Army. He was a Printer for the Winsted Citizen and the Register Citizen for most of his career. He was an Auxiliary Police Officer in Winsted for many years. He was a past Commander of American Legion Post #43.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Robert Angus of Winsted; a daughter, Sandy Partelow of Winsted; four grandchildren, Neil, Dawn, Tammy and Janelle; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, J. William Angus. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Centrella.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 21, at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 11 a.m. to noon. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Forest View Cemetery, Winsted with full Military Honors. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
