TORRINGTON – Susan E. Kelly passed away peacefully Monday, March 5, 2012 in Massachusetts. She was born on Feb. 14, 1969 in Torrington, to Robert and Kathleen (Anderson) Kelly.
She spent a wonderful childhood growing up on Margerie Street, playing with family and neighborhood friends. She attended East School and Torrington High School in the special education program. From there she started working at LARC, a job she truly loved, making friends along the way. She participated in the Special Olympics (track and field, swimming and cross country skiing), Girl Scouts, Camp LARC and enjoyed frequent trips to Cape Cod. Sue then moved to a wonderful community called Riverbrook in Stockbridge, MA. There she enjoyed a beautiful community of exceptional women. She participated in swimming, arts and crafts, yoga and playing the guitar. Sue loved playing the guitar and singing.
She leaves behind her loving family, her father Bob Kelly, her sister Kathleen Day and brother-in-law George Day, three loving brothers, Patrick Kelly and wife Kim, Michael Kelly and wife Laura, Tim Kelly and wife Gretchen along with nephews Raymond, Jack, Ryan, Tyler and Keegan, nieces Shannon, Jade, Sarah and Natalia, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her loving Mom, Kay Kelly. Sue will be missed by many, many friends, family and neighbors.
The Devine Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Maron's Church, 613 Main Street, Torrington on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in St. Peter Mausoleum, Torrington. The Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington is in care of arrangements.
